Wide solar-panel shapes and a tall antenna turn this wheeled vehicle into a moon rover. Build the cabin and imagine a slow trip across a new landscape.
Before you build
Match the shapes
Compare each part with its picture and count its rows of studs. A square brick has two rows of two studs; a long brick has two rows of four. Use the full parts list for the exact shapes and quantities.
Follow the colours
Match the shapes and quantities. The pictures show our colours. Colour names in the steps refer to the pictures. Keep contrasting colours where they help you recognise the model.
Count the studs
The bumps on top are called studs. Count them when a step asks for a gap or an overhang. Put the build on a flat surface and keep its front facing the same way as in the pictures.
Add a little at a time
New pieces keep their colour in each step. Earlier pieces look lighter so you can see what has changed. Each list tells you exactly what to add.
Build together
An adult can read the steps while a child finds the pieces. The counts are for this one model. For two models to stay built, add their parts lists together.
The solar panels and antenna are fixed brick details. They do not fold or turn.
Gather pieces
Match the shapes and quantities. The pictures show our colours. Choose your own colours for the same parts; changing a part’s shape is a different substitution.
A wheeled base counts as one complete part, including its attached wheels.

Build
STEP 1 OF 11
Set two white wheeled bases in a line with two clear rows between them. Cover each chassis with a white small plate; the eight black wheels are already attached.

STEP 2 OF 11
Make the blue body floor with two wide plates end to end. Align the back of the floor with the back chassis; the front projects two rows beyond the front chassis.

STEP 3 OF 11
Bridge the middle floor seam with two white long bricks side by side.

Fill the back and front floor sections with eight white square bricks, two across each row.

Start the cabin with two white round tower bricks side by side, directly in front of the middle seam. Add two blue squares in front of them as the lower windscreen.

STEP 6 OF 11
Raise the windscreen with two more blue squares. Add two white curves to the nose in front, rounded ends pointing forward.

STEP 7 OF 11
Cap the cabin with the white square plate, spanning the round pillars and blue windscreen.

STEP 8 OF 11
Centre the yellow long plate across the back half of the cabin roof as the solar-panel beam. It reaches two stud columns beyond each side of the cabin.

STEP 9 OF 11
Add a blue small plate across each end of the yellow beam as a solar panel. Each panel has two columns on the beam and two projecting beyond it; leave the four columns over the cabin clear.

STEP 10 OF 11
Stand the white round tower brick on the middle of the rear deck. Cap it with the blue round plate, centred over the tower.

STEP 11 OF 11
Centre the yellow cone on the blue round plate as the rover’s antenna. Leave its small top stud free.
