LET’S BUILD TOGETHER
Prehistoric fern grove
8 pieces 6 steps · One little step at a time.
A little before you begin
The leaves and trunks stay fixed.
The grove is scenery; do not force a dinosaur into the spaces between its plants.

A LITTLE PREPARATION
Gather your pieces
Match the shapes and quantities. The pictures show our colours. Colour names in the steps refer to the pictures; keep useful contrasts, such as a light belly against a dark body.

STEP 1 OF 6
Lay a green 6 × 12 plate across the table, with its long edge nearest you.

STEP 2 OF 6
Put two brown curved bricks between the plants, rounded ends pointing towards the front and back.

STEP 3 OF 6
Put a brown round tower near the left end, leaving one clear column at the left and two clear rows at the front and back.

STEP 4 OF 6
Put a green leaf piece on the round tower. Line up its four middle studs with the trunk.

STEP 5 OF 6
Put another brown round tower near the right end, leaving two clear columns at the right. Stack a second brown tower on it.

STEP 6 OF 6
Put a green leaf piece on the taller trunk, with its four middle studs above the tower.

THE LAST STEP OF THE GUIDE
Room for a little more imagination.
Count the leaf tips and find a hiding place in your paper landscape. Draw a path around the grove for a dinosaur. Tell a story about a very small visitor looking up at the leaves.
